Image Poetry Group

"Image Poetry is a project created by a group of photographers from around the world. Every week, members shoot images or use their photo archives based on a concept from a verse from a poem or song and submit 3 photos. The common denominator is a love of photography and the desire to learn more."

I mark’d where on a little promontory it stood isolated,
Mark’d how to explore the vacant vast surrounding,

Ever unreeling them, ever tirelessly speeding them.

Having to spend each day the color of the leaves.

When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold...

It could make you wonder why, but why wonder? Why Wonder, I am green and it’ll do fine, it’s beautiful!

"Pangur Ban” written in the 8th or 9th century, by an anonymous Irish Benedictine monk who lived in the extant St. Paul's Monastery on Reichenau Island in Lake Constance (Bodensee), where Germany meets with Carinthia, Austria.

"O what gladness do I prove
When I solve the doubts I love!

"So in peace our tasks we ply,
Pangur Ban, my cat, and I;
In our arts we find our bliss,
I have mine and he has his.

"Practice every day has made
Pangur perfect in his trade;
I get wisdom day and night
Turning darkness into light."

"Pangur bears me no ill will,
He too plies his simple skill."

“When at home we sit and find

Entertainment to our mind”.

"Practice every day has made
Pangur perfect in his trade;"
"Gainst the wall he sets his eye
Full and fierce and sharp and sly;"

Garden of Joy

A vast similitude interlocks all,

All spheres, grown, ungrown, small, large, suns, moons, planets,

All identities that have existed or may exist on this globe, or any globe

This vast similitude spans them, and always has spann’d,

"A vast similitude interlocks all,

All souls, all living bodies though they be ever so different, or in different worlds,

All gaseous, watery, vegetable, mineral processes, the fishes (the fowl),

All identities that have existed or may exist on this globe, or any globe,

This vast similitude spans them, and always has spann’d,
And shall forever span them and compactly hold and enclose them."

On the Beach at Night Alone” by Walt Whitman

From Reb Shlomo Carlebach: "One hippie asked me, “Seder night, Eliyahu HaNavi comes in and then we say, “Shfoch chamatcha al hagoyim” (spill out your wrath upon the nations who do not recognize you). Wouldn’t it be even more beautiful if, since Eliyahu is coming, we would say words of love and peace? This is a Torah of Shalom Bayis."

"Goodness gracious great balls of fire."

Jerry Lee Lewis

© Joy Krauthammer

PhotoShop brush and filter over sunset.  I had fun with very slow and deliberate meditative moving process that was captivating me for "Goodness, gracious, great ball of fire". Kinda like finger painting.  Like lava, color was literally moving but refused to join together.

I enjoyed altering my sunset photo. I realize that that is what brought me great joy also when I was a potter; process of transformation. I'm feeling as if this is a bulb, a seed underground, maybe coming forth after a forest fire. We've had too many of those in California.

Happy and grateful to receive comments:
Les Goldschmidt Joy...this is simply an incredible piece of artwork!
Camille Hill WOW! it's fabulous! Definitely feels like flashover in a fire.
Sandra Cashes Wonderful! it does look like artwork. Molten paint all swirling together.
Wendy Haft Abramowitz This looks like a painting! It's so cool!! It belongs over someone's couch!
Susan Roy Nelson this is gorgeous.
